I don't know why this took me so long to pick up.. but I'm really glad I did.
The way you as a reader know what is going to happen yet it still catches you off guard when it actually happens is exactly what happened while I was reading this book.
I just grew so attached to the characters and their experiences. I also really enjoyed the different points of view, it makes everyone in the book not so flat, they all have their own experiences.
Also, I listened to the audiobook of this, and I think it really added to the experience, with the different narrators for the different characters and such.
I found myself wanting more in the story, not in a bad way, but like I wanted to know more about the characters and I found myself wanting to know what happens to the characters after the story ended. It also made me question like.. is death cast good or bad? Because on one hand it could help you settle any last regrets or what not, but on the other hand constantly awaiting that phone call could not be good for anybody's mind. And while I'm sure some people in this world don't await the phone call and just live life, there's def a lot of people, like one of the main characters for instance, that was just constantly waiting for it.
It's the matter of wanting to live in ignorance sort of like we do now, or knowing your future.
Overall 10/10 book loved it, made me cry too.

Even with the fantastical idea of Death-Cast forewarning Mateo and Rufus of their impending deaths within the next 24 hours, Silvera stills manages to make every moment so real and authentic. The story is beautiful, it's bittersweet, it's funny, it's heart-warming, and even though you know what's coming it's mad sad. This is one of those stories that sticks with you for a long time, and while I don't usually get the time (mad appropriate) to reread books, this is definitely one I'd read over and over again.

I really, eally loved this book.
About enjoying life and letting go of your fear because this is all we have and we should live it now.
Mateos character was relatable and makes me sad about how I live my own life and how I should explore and do the things I want to do with no woories and letting go of my fears.

The story was unexpected and weird, I have so many questions about death caster and how the world has changed.

"I wasted time and missed fun because I cared about the wrong things."

It’s a good story, the lead up to the ending was beautiful and how they end up dying was the only thing I hated, I wish it were more tame
