The concept of this book is so cute! Paper mill owner falls for toilet paper company founder, it’s such a classical perfect romcom set up.
It is clear that the author has a ton of knowledge/did copious research about toilet paper. However there were hugely disappointing plot points regarding business ownership. Specifically the business deals the love interests make, just hurt me. One of Lincoln’s big concerns is how many people in the community his business employees and given that it is Annie’s community too you would think the two might discuss that while discussing a deal. But Lincoln doesn’t even talk to her, he just sends her paperwork? Where were the lawyers? Annie’s business is worth 3 million and Lincoln’s business employees 200 people, there would be so many lawyers. I don’t think i remember the center half of the book I was so frustrated by these business deals being dumb. Like the couple is cute, and I love a good second chance romance, but this story had so much interesting potential and was ruined by a lack of detail/research regarding basic business deals. At least one of the next potential books subjects also owns a business so I'm suddenly fearful for the rest of the series.
