What is this? Breaking Dawn, the movie? šŸ˜šŸ™„šŸ˜šŸ™„šŸ˜šŸ™„šŸ˜ DNF at 88%. Do you know how bad a book has to piss me off to quit after already reading 600 goddamn pages?

I canā€™t remember ever being this furious at a book. Talk about jumping the fucking shark. RIDICULOUS.

This was lauded as the next Den of Vipers and all I have to say to that is: wut.

This 127% did not have DoV vibes. Like, at all. There was very little character development and growth which made the sudden switch to this group being in love totally unrealistic and improbable. And it was, quite frankly, icky. I donā€™t want to yuck on anyoneā€™s yum, but the kinks in this were super SUPER not my kinks. I didnā€™t find any of the sex scenes actually sexy or even interesting. I cringed through all of them.

And sheā€™s grossed out using someone elseā€™s make up but not being fucked with someone elseā€™s blood or drinking it up like a milkshake? LOLOLOL okay.

It feels harsh giving this book 2 stars, but personally this book was far too long and the longer it went on, the less I cared.

First flaw, Zamira. I never really cared for her as the female lead. I didnā€™t feel connected to her and I didnā€™t particularly like following her as the woman.

Second flaw, connection with the characters. Ace, Blais and Theon. On the surface, great characters. But apart from feeling a very small connection to Blais, I didnā€™t feel invested in their story or why they were the way they were.

I think thatā€™s the main issue with this book for me. For an over 600 page book, it was rare I ever felt connected to the characters and as a result I didnā€™t mind all that much about the plot. Yes itā€™s steamy/smutty and has twists and turns but I had to skim read by the end because it was just too long. Sadly, it had all the ingredients for me to love but personally it wasnā€™t for me.

Overall I think this is fine. I did end up skimming about 70 pages towards the end of the book because it was slightly repetitive.
