I thought this was an okay story. The beginning rundown of everyone at the company must work better in the physical book version than in the audiobook because I immediately forgot everyone. It would have made more sense to spread those little bios out over the first few chapters. It does feel like a lot of Ms. Ware's female characters hate themselves a whole bunch, which is a bummer.

Ware builds tension and develops characters so well. You care what happens to these people. The plot itself was just ok, but you stay for the well rounded characters.

Loved the setting and a few of the characters as well as the app- it was a fun idea that was fleshed out well. I didn't like the reveal- the killer's characterization took such a sharp turn from what it had been which felt lame, and the motivation ultimately didn't feel quite strong enough.

a bit cliche/obvious about who ends up being the killer, but not too bad of a book. it was a bit too similar to The Hunting Party, which i have read before this book, so that’s probably why it was quite easy to guess who the murderer was. also didn’t like how they had Liz sort of hella change near the end of the book and how she sort of did a 180 and was like not shy or nervous all of a sudden.

Loved the suspense and I was falling for every red herring! I think I like a few other Ruth Ware novels better, so I ranked this one a smidgen lower just to reflect that.

I just think the scenes following the Big Reveal felt a bit awkward and didn't really pull the ending together how I was expecting. Still great for the mystery and suspense though!
