It's less about the story and more about appreciating the art of it. Good for aficionados of the Tim Burton iteration of Alice.

A really easy read and while the pictures were beautiful I just feel like the graphic novels didnt convey enough wonderland nonsense for my taste but then again I didn't think the movie did that great either

This is the first graphic novel that I've ever read, and I did enjoy it. I've always loved the story of Alice, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it being turned into a graphic novel. I did love all the pictures, I didn't love the format.

This graphic novel did reflect the Disney Tim Burton version of the Alice in Wonderland story well. The illustrations were recognisable but differed enough from the film to be interesting and new. I did, however, find the faces of all the characters to be quite emotionless and unappealing. The panel and dialogue selections included all of the highlights and enough plot points to move the well loved story along but it was too fast a pace for me. I'd have liked a few more details such as the unbirthday song and the painted roses. This version would be good to share with younger children as the darkness has been removed in favour of humour. There's a heavy realiance on Alice's initial belief that she is dreaming which mitigates any jeporady. Unfortunately, it's too child friendly for me.

I loved the illustrations! However I felt like this graphic novel would have benefited with either better dialogue selections or additional pages so that the scenes flow a bit smoother. But it was still cute! I'm not sure if you really get anything extra out of this beyond the illustrations though.
