5 ⭐️ absolutely loved this book! such a quick and easy read. had the perfect balance of fluff and substance. loved how there was some representation of Latino culture with the nicknames “rubia” and “naranja”

Saw this one all over bookstagram and knew I had to give it a try! It was my first ever kindle read and it was pretty good! The spice was def there but I will say it was insta love vibes. I appreciated the conflict and yeah, not bad.

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate the premise of the book. But I felt that the characters were completely ironic. It was like they were meant to be portrayed a certain way but the writing made them seem like the complete opposite.
Damien was supposed to be nice and caring and not controlling unlike Richard but Damien was also controlling in his way which would be triggering for someone in Abbie’s place.
The thing in abusive relationships is that even though the person keeps being used and treated poorly, they KNOW they deserve better. They KNOW that it isn’t okay. Or have been conditioned to think that it is okay. But Abbie? Was happy being abused till he left. How did gears churn in her head so quickly to realise she was being used? The way it was portrayed made it seem like Abbie was happy being used as long as she got a ring. She was only mad because he broke up with her and in her head, she would have been SO HAPPY if the relationship continued and they got married.
The reconciliation: what Abbie did was a HUGE betrayal and Damien just… got over it? That’s unreal, my dudes.
