In deciding to listen to the audio books of a bunch of memoirs I’ve already read, I feel like I’m coming back to a best friend. This was so good, so funny, and so enlightening

I love Felicia Day. I first saw her on Supernatural and fell in love with her character! She is just so spunky and I love that about her. I saw she released a book on audible, but I wanted to see if she wrote anything else. I stumbled across this book of hers! It was a refreshing read and I enjoyed learning about her life and how she got to where she is today. I loved hearing her embrace her weirdness and allow that to shine. I love how she never gave up on her dream! She inspired me to keep going at my dreams. I truly enjoyed this book!!

While listening to Felicia Day read her own book, her intonations and her choice of words reminded me of Dr. Horrible - you can tell that she and Joss Whedon hang out. I was amused every time I noticed similarities between Neil Patrick Harris' character, and her actual personality.

I learned a lot about the gaming world that I know nothing about. It's not a subject that particularly interests me in the least, but she kept me intently listening the majority of the time.

She's slightly disorganized in her thoughts, but I think that "imperfection" added to the charm, as if she were sitting next to me telling me her story instead of reading it to me. I found it well-written, but could understand how someone might feel otherwise.

I liked listening to her talk about her struggles with depression and impostor syndrome and how she handled critics and trolls. She didn't always handle it well, and some criticism and low points in her career drove her into a dark spiral. Listening to someone that has produced worked that I enjoyed or loved talk about her struggle with feeling like she isn't good enough was reassuring for me to hear.

Great memoir, I've been a fan of Felicia Day since Dr Horrible so it was fun to read about her life and philosophy. Very inspiring, funny and touching. The last two chapters were especially affecting, with her struggles with online commenters and the absolute garbage they will spew out into another human being. It's awesome that she continues to be creative and funny online, and screw the haters.

I've been on a celebrity autobiography kick lately. Mainly because I'm fascinated with what their lives must be like and how they got there, and I close the book feeling like we're friends. NPH and I now have amazing adventures together! Mindy Kaling and I now go shopping together & are BFFs! Reading this book I found something completely different: Felicia and I were already friends! Sure, she's much more obsessive & anxious than I am, but I am more than a little of those things myself. I could relate to all of the geeky gaming (I played hundreds of hours of text-based role-playing MUDs in college!) & web video production (a version of: I used a webcam to broadcast my dorm room in college!) Felicia—thanks for being incredibly honest and sharing all of your highs & lows!

it's really good. You should read it.
I mean i have no interest in acting or anything but the stuff she talks about you can apply into your own life? She mainly talks about growing up, leading with stress and anxiety and lots of internet stuff. So maybe you can relate. I did.

It's a really good book and I love her writing. It's pretty cool to get to know an actress I like a little bit more.
A lot of people mock fandom and fan fiction, like it's lazy to base your own creativity and passion on someone else's work. But some of us need a stepping-stone to start. What's wrong with finding joy in making something, regardless of the inspiration?

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be inspiring. Just like Felicia.
