A powerful story that might be a little let down by the modern day parts. Or maybe it’s the fact it’s a wonder story

I loved the book “Wonder” and upon seeing a movie trailer for this book I knew I had to read it. This book is done as a graphic novel and while fiction, feels as it could have been very real. It would be a fantastic book for a young person curious wanting to learn more about WWII. I absolutely loved the tie in to “Wonder” and “Auggie and Me” as well as the overwhelming message of the power of kindness.

A comic following a Jewish girl in WW2, the grandma of a character in the Wonder books. This was beautiful and left me misty eyed... including the epilogue, taking place in modern day. This is a good one to read with a kid in relation to today's politics, and kid questions like, "why do we have to learn history?"
