An interesting look at the very beginning of children's fantasy, when you could just write any old thing you want without pesky worries about plot or motivation. Still, so darn out there it's worth a read.

¡Terminado! Parece que con esto recupero algo más de infancia. Es un cuento bastante amigable, lleno de buena gente y malvadas brujas. Con críticas veladas a las cortes imperiales, donde el Emperador es un farsante y los nobles, rentistas y conspiradores, no tienen nada mejor que hacer "que hablar entre ellos todo el día".

What fun! I have never read the Oz books and after seeing the latest movie, I thought I should. I really liked the book. I hate to say it, but I liked it much better than the old movie. So much depth and interesting characters. I liked that it was fantasy, but not just waking up from a dream. Looking forward to enjoying the rest of the series!
