i feel guilty for liking this book so much but it was so good. the way it's written helps convey the feeling of loneliness and being emotionally detached.

A little repetitive at times but overall the themes were really good and it gives you a good idea what life was like in Los Angeles during the 80s

first 3/4 of the book: critique of the vapidity of LA/socal social culture, a bit dry in the way that windless, hot summer days are.
last 1/4 of the book: the most depraved shit you’ve ever read.

Just a more boring version of American Psycho with slightly less rape, violence and torture 2❄️
