Alice is set to marry Seth, but when the wedding day comes, a stranger is standing at the altar. The story goes on from there, alternating between flashing back to the events leading up to the wedding and then following its aftermath. If you've ever been gaslit, it successfully captures some of the emotions and stages of questioning your own sanity, especially if your abuser involves more people in the torment.

However, this is one of those thrillers that is lessened by the need for twists. It made it necessary to make it seem like Alice had few true supports and some of the red herring antagonists were very over the top  stereotypes. That said, I never felt like DNFing this book despite everything about the conclusion straining credulity.

oh my gosh, this book was too good! I started this book by listening to it as an audiobook yesterday and could not stop listening. The question of trying to figure out what happened keeps you engaged the whole time. I really enjoyed that it went back and forth from past to present. I also really did not suspect some of the plot twists that come in and how just went I thought one thing another twist happened. It was great, I’m only not giving this 5 because I want to reread it by fully reading it not just partially audio and partially reading. Would definitely recommend if you want an addicting, psychological thriller!
