I have NEVER given a 1-star rating before, but I honestly feel this should have been a 0 star. It was so bad :( Like what happened? Full review below that might contain spoilers even though there is literally nothing to spoil? It was just SO awful.

maybe 1.5 stars? if i wasn’t listening to the audiobook, i probably would not have been able to finish this. it was just super boring and slow, i disliked the characters, and i hated the weird relationship between michael and marie. plus the ending was unbelievably unsatisfying

This book had so much potential. I bought it because the plot summary intrigued me but upon reading it, I was utterly disappointed. There was nothing much that kept me hooked and wanting more. It felt so flat and boring that reading it felt like a chore. I couldn't finish it anymore.

I liked it! A bit too mysterious though. While I tend to like not knowing, I like to lean further in one direction. I think it'd of been a lot cooler to have more of an interaction with the vampire. Good, still.
