Quick and easy read. Prequel can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

It was okay for a prequel novella, I'm just not sure it managed to intrigue me enough to make me want to pick up the first book in the series. I'll give it some time, see if the need to pick it up appears or not.

A fascinating start to series which certainly left me intrigued and wanting more! I found myself quickly becoming attached to Harlow and the dark undertones namely the mysterious Thorn, has me desperately waiting for the next instalment!

This book left me confused about my own reaction to it. Let me explain.

Harlow looks like a very determined girl. She got out of, what looked like, an abusive situation at home after her mom died. She's working to pay her bills. She's trying hard to become a ballet dancer. She does lie about her age but... I guess I can live with that.

The stalker, which is another character that apparently will be the "love" interest in the next book,
if you can call him that, was a surprise and a half. Not because he was there but because I felt so compelled, so drawn to his point of view that it scared me. It shouldn't have made me feel such strong feelings, it should have made me say he was crazy or something but that didn't happen.

The friend point of view at the end... I can't help to think she's going to be more of a villain than a friend, even though she didn't give me any reason at all to think of her that way.

In essence this prequel makes me want to read this series even more.

This was a really intriguing, short prequel to a new series. I was drawn in from the start and can't wait for Blood Red Rose.
