A little uneven but pretty fun to read. Steve King vein, but by someone who grew up in urban environments instead of the middle of nowhere Maine.

This was fun... I thought a lot of it was juvenile but I can't decide if that is just trying to make the character(s) more real, I lived through the times/scenes he described and recognized the characteristics as some of my friends. and the story made sense and the characters were unique.

The story itself is interesting. The writing style is honestly very similar to Jason Pargin (who is also from Cracked.com), so that might be influencing my first impression. If you like John Dies at the End you should also like this book.

This is the first in a series of books, I will be reading the next.

This book is A LOT in the best way possible. Funny, creepy, and weird as all get out. Punk rock Lovecraft.

I would write a longer review but the next book just finished loading on my Kindle.

I won a copy of this via goodreads.
This was an interesting story, it had some great action and the characters were quick witted which made it even more entertaining but i could just never fully immerse in the story and found myself skimming the pages.

I'm impressed by how a book with such disturbing scenes can still manage to be laugh-out-loud funny.

I would have preferred less sexual violence. Especially since the threats of rape and actual rape only happen to female characters and that puts it squarely into the “authors using sexual violence against women as a crutch”.

Other than that, it was pretty standard stoner humor tainted by eldritch horror.
