There are so many silly things taking place in this one that I was cringing almost the whole way through. And why does Remender choose to use that amount of prose that makes you feel like you're in the 60s or 70s Marvel?

I pretty much have no idea what's going on in this book. So. Much. Backstory. But I'll persevere with the next volume, because I like the characters - great to see Scarlet Witch & Rogue front and centre.

X-men and Avengers working on the same time? I am there! Great read! Crazy villain concept.

I just don't get the setup to this story. Sure the idea of an Avenger's X-Men sub team is interesting. But as seems common with Avenger's books, the casting almost seems random. And ugh the Red Skull. There are bits of this book that show this story had potential, perhaps the sequel will be better. But I'm thinking not.

This Remender was actually intriguing. I think that this may have been because the plot was largely developed for him ahead of time because of the Marvel Universe implications. I haven't been keeping up with the muties lately, but I enjoyed the idea of Havok feeling obligated to atone for his brother's sins. It was a nice way to renew the anti-mutant fervor. I also enjoy the Avengers paring as well.

The story was good (at least I thought so, 'cause everyone else seems to differ) but I felt that the art was flat and the overall execution was lacking. Still good though

There was just so much about this that was twisted and disturbing. I know most people want the uber realistic storylines of today but not me. Give me a nice old fashion battle between good and evil where the good guys win. Just not my cup of tea.

I think I need to read this again. I liked it but not as much as I feel I was supposed to.
