This book made me so uncomfortable. Initially, it felt very daytime tv-ish because it lacked a certain level of verisimilitude, especially in the dialogue. Later, the red flags and cringe-y behaviors of the male love interest had me losing support for the further development of their relationship. The cherry on top was a "let me teach you how to suck my c*ck" scene that was SO uncomfortable, groaning sounds actually came out of my mouth.
There is cheating in this book—a lot of it. I typically wouldn't focus on that element, but this book centers around cheating and it is handled VERY poorly. In fact, one character is adamant about not cheating in order to preserve their self-respect and the love interest tramples all over that to such an extent, that it felt like a consent violation. Do with that what you will.
The author's book Don't Kiss the Bride was an ok experience for me, but after this one, I'm not sure I will dip my toes back into their body of work.
