Wasn’t expecting the twist! Torre has such a unique writing style that I’ve always enjoyed. This one didn’t captivated me from beginning to end but I was intrigued.

Intense and seductive!

I’ve read several books by A.R. Torre and they’ve all been fantastic. A Familiar Stranger is intense and gripping with detailed, complex characters. You’ll be blind-sighted by the impressive twists.

Lillian and Mike seem like an ordinary married couple until the author starts stripping away the layers. The family drama in this thriller is seductive and sizzling. Highly recommend this one!

Amazing! I never saw some of the twists coming which is unusual! I wish I could go back and reread this one. It ranks up there with one of the best I’ve read this year.

I am struggling with my thoughts on this one.

On one hand, I loved this book.

On the other, there were some aspects about the book that just didn't click with me.

I think I was expecting more of the Deanna Madden series vibe with this book. It definitely didn't have that vibe for me. This one was too quick, I think. I almost wanted a little more an areas. I wouldn't even have been disappointed if it had be a duet to give me more of the thriller feel.

Overall, I enjoyed this one. The ending wasn't really my liking, but it is what the author wanted it to be. I definitely saw the who coming from a mile away. I don't think many will though. I think my brain works in some of the same ways as the author's does though. This one is definitely worth reading!

Lots of twist and turns

I definitely enjoyed this book but I will say it wasn't exactly what I expected. Lots of twist and turns and a whodunit.

This was different from previous books I have read by the author. I was not expecting it to change from one type to another type in the middle.
I didn't really like any of the characters. Lillian is pathetic, and I didn't really see how she fit with Mike. The affairs were sort of interesting, but as we learn more about these people it was all a bit weird. I think I only liked Lenny by the end.
It was unique, but I just didn't love it.
