Wonderful insights into the day to day work of an OB-Gyn doctor. Even though it’s set in the NHS, still very relevant for those in the US.

The last chapter wrecked me. It’s heartbreaking but shows the reality of working on the delivery ward.

A magnificent, horrifying, poignant, deeply moving at times, but most of all, hilarious account of doctors' and their patients' harrowing, challenging, and sometimes incredible daily experiences.

This book was hilarious if I didn't think too much about it and depressing if I did.

A read a review describing this book as a loveletter to the NHS and it truly is - Kay truly loves the NHS but the issue is, the government doesn't. He highlights all the ways the NHS are being abused and mistreated and this is from almost two decades ago - things have gotten a lot worse since then.

This book opens your eyes to the way doctors are poorly treaten and even those who have a deep love for the profession just can't handle the way the NHS is being run. I have a new admiration for doctors and other medical staff and an even deeper hatred for the government. We all need to protect the NHS or soon we won't have it

I would recommend this book to everyone so next time you're waiting hours on end waiting to be seen by a doctor you understand their side of the story too and don't take your frustration out on them and get angry at the right people.

Genial.
