Best apocalyptic alien fiction I've read in a long time! These aren't your typical aggressive aliens or your typical rugged hero. Craig is an insecure slacker with boyfriend issues who might just have sympathy for the aliens slowly taking over the planet, even if they won't come right out and say so. Creative plot twists keep the story moving along at a good pace.

Zwei Sterne auch nur, weil der Anfang gut war. Danach geht es direkt in die lodernde Tell-Don't-Show-Hölle.

I first discovered Sean Eads' writing through his story "Celebration" in the Kaleidoscope anthology. It's a brilliant story, so I was excited to read this novel. It didn't disappoint. It starts off with a fresh spin on alien invasion that is creepy, poignant, and hilarious--at first. The story takes a dark turn as a secret resistance of humans takes Earth's defense into their hands. The language and story are fresh and exciting, definitely a must read for any scifi fan.
