One of the very few good things to come out of the Melbourne lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 (apart from the many thousands of lives saved in a time before covid19 vaccinations) was the very sweary ouvre of Mr David Milner writing in The Shot. This collects some of his best pieces, including the most popular “Melbourne is not a city in revolt”. In the future, if historians look at the absolute rubbish reported by the mainstream media to get a sense of the Melbourne lockdowns, there will at least be this counterpoint to tell them what actually happened. As well as Milner’s anger, this collection includes articles by Grace Tame, Micheal Bradley and Ronni Salt. But sadly, despite her name being on the back cover, nothing by Jo Dyer.
