This has been one of my favourite books in the season so far. A far improvement from the last book in the series. Similarly formulaic to the previous books but many more surprises and a different sequence of exciting events with many new characters. Also, finally getting to know Stiorra as her own character has been my favourite part of this book!

Another good book in this series. I love how the characters keep enriching the story.
The details are amazing and the plot was brilliantly put together.
Onto the next one!!

A standout entry in the Cornwell Last Kingdom series, this book is full of plot twists and more interesting early 10th century English history, including a jaunt into Wales. Admirably narrated.

Another solid book in the series.
Each book is very formulaic, which means they are super easy to read, but it does mean sometimes the entertainment value drops off

By now, I am pretty attached to Uthred, his sons and Finnan. But I do wish there was more time with the characters within his service and this would also help expand the story and believability of the events

Enjoying this whole series. I really like Cornwell's way of foreshadowing.
