Call me uncultured, but I'm apparently not the biggest fan of Poe's stories. I really like his poetry, and have a book of it somewhere, but the stories are kind of meh to me. I like the idea of them, and I know I've seen other media based on the stories, but the way Poe writes is just okay to me.
Also, I honestly only picked this up because me partner and I saw the first episode of the Netflix reimagining, and I'm a nerd (and a fan of everything spooky) so I wanted to check out the source material.

“Had” to read for my American Lit class, but also for my pure enjoyment as I had forgotten how much I love Poe from reading him in high school. I have now bought a book filled with his short stories to reminisce and see if the rest of his stories live up to his most popular. (Also can’t wait to watch the new Netflix show! Live, breathe, and die for Mike Flanagan).

I've learned I can't read classics while driving in rush hour traffic lol
