AAAA I absolutely loved this book! Its a story of Izumi’s (the mc) journey of discovering the twists and turns of the royal life and figuring out her cultural differences. Stumbling to keep up with her royal status, Izumi gets entangled within the strings of a complicated romance!
SpoilerOh. My. God. The fact that Yoshi was the one behind the tabloid stories was utterly shocking. i trusted him TwT I adored the progression of Akio and Izumi relationship, ESPECIALLY THE POEMS 🥺 Akio and Makato are such romantics

A little cheesy in some places, but great for fans of modern fairytale-like stories.

What a delightful and sweet book! I practically inhaled this, not only because of Izumi's voice (she's hilarious and so blunt), but also the tropes (royal/bodyguard romance!!! clothes sharing!! the Asian Girl Gang/female friendships!!!!) and certain characters.

I am South Asian, not East Asian, but oh MAN I related so much to Izumi. The name keychains, being raised/living in a mostly white and conservative town, trying to be "enough" for two or more cultures... This book was so wonderful and yet so cathartic.

And the ending was lovely and stood well on its own, I gotta say that I am so relieved there's a second book! Not ready to let go of this universe/the characters, tbh.

Also who do I have to bribe to get a follow up book about Izumi's parents??? They were too adorable.
