Unread shelf project 2022: book 6.
Mmm. Not sure really what I think about this book or even if I liked it or not. Really neutral at this point, honestly. Some of it was funny, but I’m also not really someone who enjoys slapdash comedy and I also wasn’t quite anticipating that when I picked this book up.
It’s a combination of the Three Stooges, Crazy Rich Asians, a cozy mystery, and a family drama. I really liked Meddy and her aunts but tbh I was a little grossed out by all of the scenes featuring the corpse.

I was expecting a standard romance novel. I think because of the cover art. So I was very surprised by the murder plot! Points for originality. Even though I absolutely hate consuming media, where you were waiting for someone to get caught in a lie, or get in trouble, and I find the bad choices that the main character in this book bakes to be absolutely unbelievable… At least it was different to mix up the genre.
