What a charming book, slow to start which carries the pace for some time, then the pace picks up the rest of the book. Zoe get his by a double decker bus during Christmas Parade. But her dead Grandmother gives her a December do over. But in return she must make 6 true love connections. The love connections kept me guess, what a lovely read

Cute Holiday read. From the beginning I did not like Zoey's boyfriend. But I like the idea of her trying to match up 6 couples by Xmas Eve. It was a fun read and paired well with decorating my tree and watching Hallmark Movies.

I adore the premise of this book - it was unique and different!

Our MC, Zoey, gets hit by a bus on Christmas Eve and is brought back as a “Christmas cupid” she has to match 6 couples in order to change the future and not get hit.

I loved this premise, it was fun to watch her try to match her friends and even random people on the bus or during her work. I loved the bickering between Zoey and her friends.

I couldn’t stand her obsession with Scott and the “perfect girlfriend points.” I wish less time was devoted to that because it was an extremely toxic situation and it wasn’t necessary to spend so much time detailing their interactions. The growth Zoey goes through regarding her relationship with Scott by true end was superb, but it took too long to get there in my opinion.

I wanted more of MILO. I was screaming at zoey throughout the entire book - YOUR 6TH COUPLE IS YOU HOMIE.

It was a fun, sweet read I would definitely recommend.

Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Cute little story about second chances. I will say that one of the characters bugged me from start to finish. While other characters were absolutely delightful. It’s probably more of 3 1/2 stars.

This book got me through Covid!

I read this book while stuck in bed with Covid. To say I was feeling down and out is an understatement. However, the Christmas magic in Jennifer Joyce’s Christmas Cupid was just what I needed.

Zoey is tragically killed while working the Christmas parade. Visited by her grandmother, she is given the chance to live, if she can match six true loves by Christmas Day. Fueled by her desire to win back her ex- boyfriend, Scott, she learns that not all love stories end in a happily ever after.

I must admit that I struggled with Zoey at times. She was so focused on getting Scott back that she neglected to see his faults. Her willingness to diminish herself in order to become the woman Scott wanted was heartbreaking. He was such a tool; unworthy of Zoey’s time, attention, and love.

Special thanks to NetGalley and HQ for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

The Christmas Cupid by Jennifer Joyce is a delightful Christmas story with a dash of Christmas magic that is just perfect for the holidays.

Story Recap:
Zoey Beake is having a tough December, but the worst thing is her longtime boyfriend dumped her, and now she’s dressed as an elf on stilts at the Christmas Eve parade. But, her day gets worse when she is knocked off her stilts in front of a double-decker bus.

Instead of instantly dying, she sees her grandmother's spirit, who tells her that she has a second chance. She can start back living again on December 1st, but she must complete a task in order to stay alive after Christmas. She must make six love matches. Zoey believes this second chance will also give her another chance with her boyfriend.

My Thoughts:
The Christmas Cupid is such a cute book. I enjoyed the little touch of magic, that gives this book that magical Christmas touch. The characters were believable and realistic, especially Zoey. I also liked that she has a job in retail and just loves working in a toy store, and a toy store at Christmastime is a perfect background to this story.

I thought the book was a bit chaotic at times, but that also felt realistic as Zoey leads a bit of a chaotic life. I enjoyed the side characters very much too. Zoey has a good support group around her, and I loved the way they all supported her.

The Christmas Cupid is a light-hearted, and magical Christmas book that brings Christmas joy to the reader.

Recommendation:

I recommend The Christmas Cupid to anyone who enjoys Christmas romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
