This is a short story, published electronically only, forming an interesting snippet for fans of King's Mary Russell series ([b:Mary Russell Collection: The Beekeeper's Apprentice, the Language of Bees, Locked Rooms, the Game|10801142|Mary Russell Collection The Beekeeper's Apprentice, the Language of Bees, Locked Rooms, the Game (Mary Russell Mystery)|Laurie R. King|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51znn8bVHdL._SL75_.jpg|15714435]).
At just £1.50 it might even be enough to entice new readers to the series.

Not wild about this particular Sherlock retelling. This Sherlock is older and idk I just didn’t like the writing!

An extremely short story about when Sherlock and Russell first met when she was a fifteen year old child. This was a great refresher on how they began because it has been many years since I started this series and some details grow foggy.

Delightful short story. From Holmes’ perspective on how they met.

Loved it! A fun short story with an interesting perspective for fans of the series. King really got the essence of Sherlock Holmes's character down.

This is definitely enough to spur me on to read at least The Beekeeper's Apprentice.
