A run-of-the-mill plot (teenage underdog overcomes adversity in a competition) that Rowling's exceptional worldbuilding just takes to another level. Harry and Ron's adolescent development is hugely entertaining (we begin to see glimmers of the Ron/Hermione relationship really coming into play), the Yule Ball scene is simply a delight. Rowling also works the plot shifting into the graphic depictions of the imminent war expertly. Simply delightful.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Child death, Death, Violence, Murder, and War
The relationship between Hermione and Victor Krum has an uncomfortable age gap.jbabbm's review against another edition
