These are getting a little tedious. Some poor person is killed, she's got to investigate despite everyone treating her like dirt because she's a woman, then she misses several important clues, then figures it all out just in time to go rushing in alone like a dumbass. Nearly getting herself killed, but finally prevailing, she then proceeds to overthink getting back to her own time but nothing happens again.

I received an advanced copy from the publisher through a Goodreads giveaway.
I was really looking forward to this book. I have enjoyed Kendra Donovan since I read the first book in the series. This book was going about as expected with Kendra still having trouble adapting to being in the past and coming to grips with possibly not being able to return to her time. Kendra, the Duke and Alex were conducting a murder investigation in a town they passing through. I was thoroughly enjoying this book and then there was a twist at the end that made me want the book to keep going.
I cannot wait for the next Kendra Donovan mystery.

I both love this series and it drives me crazy, mainly because of Kendra’s inability to temper her language and her persistent surprise of the mores of the time period. No one expects her to love it but her constant “What?!” at the class and gender power issues is annoying. Sometimes I am able to chalk her issues up to the trauma of her upbringing and her parents disowning her but you can’t tell me that a capable professional is unable to refrain from cursing in public or figuring out that the best way to work with certain men is to let them think one of the men with her is “in control”? Still looking forward to the next one though.

Another episode of this bananas series where FBI agent is thrown into the past and uses her forensic skills to solve crimes while being continually frustrated by the limited roles for women in Regency England. Somehow it works?

This was so fun! I love these books :-) Can’t wait to read the next one. And I love how romance isn’t the main point in this series at all!

Loving this series, even though I figured it out half way through. So entertaining, so many red herrings, it was very enjoyable!
