This is the first book of poetry that I have read cover-to-cover without stopping. The first time I read it, I was up until 3am. An entrancing book-length poem, it's a brave, nuanced, lush meditation on the body in pain, the body in mourning, the body growing treelike around whatever gets in its way. It's unflinching and difficult and beautiful, and I've read it twice so far, and I know I'm going to return to it again.

This is an excellent book-length poem about pain. I know the author and she is an amazing person to be able to be as fun and fearless as she is yet also capture the myriad feelings of chronic pain, illness and treatment and weave in nature themes. The books is both concrete and transcendent.
