Excellent read yet again! Amy Plum has now become one of my favorite authors! Even though I totally saw the end coming, with what happens to Kate, I almost wished it hadn't happened because of some of the repercussions. 1 critique: I felt that some of the vital, pivotal moments in the story didn't carry and express the weight that they should have. I was a disappointed with the rush the writing had when covering these moments (I think there were 3).
A wonderful, perfect ending to a beautiful series! I would read it again in a heartbeat!

It has been a while since I've read this series, but I don't remember it being so wordy. I felt that there was too much dialogue and not enough action, and there wasn't enough romance. Granted, Vincent is volant in this book, but they could have had sweeter conversations.

I was not a fan of the ending of this...soooo many questions still. It still felt very unfinished for me. Other than that, the rest of the story was still pretty good. Most was predictable but entertaining nonetheless.

I hate to say it... But I had this ending figured out before book 2! Also, the first 2 thirds or so could have used some more problems and conflict. Our main character seemed to breeze through everything... So I kind of struggled to stay interested.
The last third of the book finally started picking up the story line, and we began seeing some nice little tidying up on minor plots and issues. The showdown was brilliantly written although predictable, and the final chapter was beautiful.

If you are a fan of the Revenants series, you can't miss this one. So read it!

All in all, this was an interesting journey.

I think there was a lot of drama in this book, which is not necessarily good, but gives intensity to all that happens.

I was sad with the fate of some characters, especially Jules.

I feel so sorry for him. I wish his end had been different and he had found some way to be where he was, still.

But it is so hard to love someone who doesn't love us back, especially when that person loves someone who means the world to us too.

So, even though I am heartbroken for Jules, I can really understand his decision. I would probably have done the same thing.

I just wish the vibrant person he was hadn't disappeared like that. Just sad!

Also, this book kind of made me root for him and Kate. How...unexpected!

I was surprised with some other things, mainly with the way Vincent was brought back, yet I only gave If I Should Die 4 stars because I saw a lot of what was coming.

Like the Champion Prophecy. I totally saw that coming in book 2!

And I can't say I'm happy about that.

I didn't want that fate to the person to whom this prophecy referred to. But, at the same time, this solved a lot of other issues, so I guess I have to be somewhat happy.

Also, I feel like the end was rushed.

I wanted to know what would happen next with a lot of characters, mainly Jules and if he ever could get over his feelings, Gaspard, because of that awful thing that happened in the end, Charlotte and Ambrose and Georgia and Arthur, giving their new relationship status, Kate and Vincent and their new roles, Charles and his German clan, Kate and Georgia's grandparents, and so on.

I didn't get that, which left me more than a bit distressed.

But I just have to accept that I won't ever get answers to all I want to know.
