I think at this point I’ll read whatever Darva Green writes. She is so good at writing characters and story. She Came From The Swamp isn’t quite what I expected but I really enjoyed it regardless.

This book left me with a lot of questions. Which I was not expecting. I need more information about Nadezhda's weird family though! What kind of power do they have? Why have they decided to use it to fight crime? Maybe they're using it that way. She seems to spin it as such, but also that they suck? Wild.

Then there's the kikimora. Who's hot. And a really cool folktale that I got to research after reading this little jaunt in the swamp. We love a sexy avenging spirit in this house. And she is that. Petty, sexy, avenging swamp monster. I was here for it. I thought I was just signing up for a quick monster romp, and I'm left with so many questions!

this was a great time. it was interesting and hot. i do feel like there were moments where information was kinda just skipped over because it felt like i was missing an understanding of what was going on sometimes. i also just wanted more from mora
like she was standoff-ish but then that wasn't explained really?
otherwise, i had a good time, and am so happy to have another FF monster romance book!

⚠️: grieving a breakup, use of weed, a dead body, conspiracy to murder a family member, mention of murder cult activity

I started reading this during a bad time and every time I tried to return to it, it reminded me of the bad times :(

The best kind of complaint for a book: I wanted more. I really loved Dez and Mora's relationship and the way they each supported each other through their individual insecurities. There were several things I just felt were underdeveloped such as her family history and mora's own history. What was there was great I just wanted more.
