Fullmetal Alchemist is a masterclass in story telling. This particular volume focused on mentorship and passion and as I have consistently felt throughout the FMA canon, it was told with absolute artistry. The perfect equilibrium between humor, heart, drama, and fantasy is astonishing and effortlessly natural. This is a supremely special story that has nestled into my bookish heart with ease.

Another volume of full metal alchemist done. Winry had a much larger part in the last two volumes, more specifically this one, which I really appreciate. I want to see more of er character as she is definitely one of the highlights of the series.

It's awesome we're getting some more insight into the boys history, and so far it's done really well to piece together. It never feels like the information is being dumped on us, it's well paced. Only downside was this one kind of felt a bit like filler? Everything that happened didn't seem to have a bunch of weight?

Overall, super enjoyable.
