While the first half of this volume was really good, the second half was incredible. Such a sad, sweet story. I love Kagome as a heroine: brave, kind, and innovative, even if she’s a bit of a damsel in distress a lot of the time. I guess that’s what happens when you meddle in the affairs of demons.
Nice to have a bit of a break from the main plot and see some character development.
Also the demons/monsters continue to be absolutely terrifying.

This manga has humor, romance, action, adventure, mystery, fantasy, and magic! The first half concludes the battle against the Thunder Brothers that started in the previous one, but this volume becomes surprisingly heartfelt during the 2nd half; the story about ghosts/spirits instead of demons really made Kagome’s humanity and compassion shine.

This had all the action that you come to expect from the series, the witty dialogue and what I would consider one of the saddest stories.

I enjoyed the second half of the volume more with the ghost story. I admit to never being a huge fan of Shippo, or of Takahashi-sensei's depiction of Kitsune but still enjoyable.
