Really enjoyed that every tale was different but not so crazy they felt otherworldly. Favorites were definitely the candy one & liddy, first to fly.

I don’t usually love short stories but this was such a good collection. There was a sense of eeriness present in each story without feeling repetitive, and a very different way of filing you with unease. Really wonderfully weird.

I don't usually pick up short story collectionI, as they always seem to disappoint me as a whole. I also rarely rate anything 5 stars unless I know I could reread it at any time but this collection. Even the weakest story here is memorable (I use the word weakest only comparatively as nothing here is weak). The first and last stories spoke to my very soul but many others did as well. Run and read this.

This book is a collection of 12 different short stories. I liked that some stories felt futuristic while others were contemporary or historical. I definitely liked some stories more than others but in general this collection was an entertaining and thought-provoking reflection of the different themes of life.

favs: pre-simulation consultation, #climbingnation, twenty hours, in this fantasy

Not my taste. One of those, “it really feels like you’re trying to tell me something important and deep and I’m absolutely not getting it”.

There are some really good stories in here, but a lot of meh too.  Either they end perfectly with you thinking about it in the good way, or they make you think but in the bad way, the why did it end here, it needed a few more pages.

The three standouts is the first one about VR, the time cube and the climber.
