I love this book so much and it is definitely one of my comfort reads. I’m a sucker for found family and this story just hits the spot for me. I love Vins journey and self growth in this book and the rest of the of the series. She is so badass and I love her! I think this book is full of just the right amount of warmth and love but also pain and grief. I definitely recommend it!

A great book that I enjoyed reading. The only reason it didn't get a 4 star is because I didn't feel emotional invested in the outcome of the story.

Amazing, breathtaking, soul crushing, crying, screaming into the void kind of book. It took me maybe 30 pages to get situated and then things just fell into place, the scene was set and we could get into the action! I love Kelsier and Vin, they are my favorite characters and I fucking enjoyed following them on this journey and seeing them grow <3 .
The ending felt a tiny bit rushed (
It's a bit sus how Vin put the puzzle pieces together so quickly about the Feruchemy and the Allomancy... Sure, she read the logbook, but really, she knew right away it was the guy only by the clothes she saw him wearing when she used the Eleventh metal? Ehhhhhhhh, ok.
) That part was a bit meh, but I still ADORED this book and would recommend it to anyone, especially those who like world building and great character development

Everything you hear about a Brandon Sanderson book is true! It’s captivating, enthralling, emotional, epic!! The world building is outstanding, the character development is perfect.
Mistborn is the first in a much larger series in the Cosmere Universe. You follow along the story of the Skaa and an unlikely pair of rebels. Vin, a sheepish thief girl who is owned by a crew leader as a debt paid from her brother who abandons her. She has luck and that’s the only thing making her useful enough to waste valuable food and lodging on. Until she needs Kelsier who teachers her what her luck really is. Can they over throw the Lord Ruler and form a rebellion?

Absolutely wonderful entry into the Cosmere. I love BS writing and world-building. The magic system is so unique. I did not want to put this book down. I am very excited to see where the story goes from here.

I'm reading this book as the introduction to the Cosmere universe, I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first Brandon Sanderson book.

I'd say that I loved it, quite a lot.

I wasn't very intrigued by the plot almost all the way through, just uncertain where it was going to go, but boy, I adored the characters.

The main focus, Vin and Klesier, are both flawed individuals who felt like realistic people. They had depth to their personalities and motives, I loved the father-daughter relationship they've developed. I appreciate how Brandon writes the teenage girl, she's belivably a teenager with her stubborness and naivety, but she also has this sense of perspective to the world that the rest of the cast didn't see. It was a refreshing contrast to the personalities of the main crew. I liked the romance too.

It's so easy to create a young character who's obnoxiously loud, sassy, and stupid, but in this case I was rooting for the girl and I completely understand how Klesier and Sazed felt. I felt protective of her.

I loved the power system in the book, it was simple yet contains magnitude of flexibility with how the battles can play out. Reminds me of the power system in Hunter x Hunter!

I was invested in the characters, which pushed me to binge the book til the end. I wanted to know what happened.

The ending was a combination of satisfying predictable outcome and unexpected but well-foreshadowed twist, while leaving a bunch of questions unanswered for the rest of the series to pick up.

The writing/prose is surprisingly simple from such a well-known author, but English is my second language so it didn't bothered me much. I actually appreciate the simplicity, as I do struggle to understand the purple prose that many literary nerds are obsessed with.

I can't wait to read the next one!
