This is an awesome book. The fictional tale of a musician and his encounters with real life music stars. Loved it. Mitch Albom is one of my favorite authors. You must read this book.

Mitch Albom is magical. This story was absolutely amazing. I listened to the audiobook, and it featured a full cast of characters, which I think was great in helping distinguish the chapters that were other people talking about Frankie versus Frankie’s backstory. I think it doesn’t get 5 stars from me just because I was comparing it to Albom’s other works, but it was really well done!

when i started, it was an easy read. though it never started on an easy note. it was heartbreaking even from the first page! but somehow the story was so dream like, flows so nicely and i really can't put this book down.

if there's ever a book i wish could turn into a movie, this would be it. love this!

Another great read from Mitch Albom. This was a fictional story about a man named Frankie Presto and how his gift of music impacted his life from birth to death. Told from the point of view of the gift of music it was at times hard to remember that this was not a true story. The way the story is told in a disjointed history made quite an impact once the conclusion was revealed. The use of real music industry people giving interviews of Frankie led to the feeling this was more biographical than historical fiction. Having these said musical people do their narration of the audiobook was, even more, awe-inspiring. While not my favorite of his works it is well written and a story that helps you think about life, gifts, and the paths you choose.

A story of childhood tragedy and sibling rivalry.  Decisions were made by two brothers that had consequences for an entire family and especially their sister Kate.

It wasn’t a long story, but I felt it was overly detailed in parts and therefore dragged a little bit.  Still a great debut.
