This is a beautiful reflection on desert spirituality and how that needs to be rooted in a contemplative approach to one’s faith that centers silence, solitude, and simplicity.
I appreciated how this book was so rooted in Scripture, the teachings of the Desert Fathers, and Christian mystics such as the author of The Cloud of Unknowing and Thomas Merton.
The writing style took me some getting used to; it doesn’t flow as smoothly as other texts I have read but I still found this rich with insight and needed wisdom.
