Still enjoying the series, though this one felt like a little bit of a lull.

I picked this up as part of my continuation of this series.
“The Girl from the Other Side, Vol. 6” continues to follow Shiva and Teacher as they try to navigate their world and understand more about this curse. In this volume, Teacher and Shiva find themselves far from home as they try to put some distance between themselves and the soldiers that are trying to hunt Shiva. Teacher is also trying to desperately understand what happened to him and why Shiva does not seemed to be affected by the curse in the same way.
I am still very much enjoying this series, but this volume was not my favorite. It felt like the plot was a little too drawn out, and I am ready to have some answers, or at least have the characters divulge a little bit more.
I really do love Shiva’s and Teacher’s relationship and dynamic. Shiva is still very much a young girl, and even in the face of extreme challenges, she is playful at heart. I think her inclination towards the whimsical helps to keep Teacher grounded, and enjoying life. Teacher cares so much about Shiva, and I really love seeing that.
In this volume we got to learn more about Teacher’s life before the curse, and I am so excited to continue to learn more. I feel like his story is going to be linked with Shiva’s in a more profound way, and I cannot wait to see it unfold.
I am very excited to pick up the next volume!
