- I'm so excited to finally continue this Manga series! It has been two years since I read the last volume, as my library didn't have more and I never saw them on sale anywhere. I almost forgot how haunting and dark the story is!
- Volume 6 follows Teacher and Shiva as they seek out a new home where they might be safe from prosecution as others hope to use the girl for their own plans. I still love their familial relationship and how Teacher tries to be a caretaker as best as he can š„ŗ Shiva's just a young girl and still grieving her Auntie, though she's also very resilient and full of life.Ā
- I'm also interested to learn more about the world, we get more glimpses as the series goes on! There's something special about Shiva's soul, but this volume also focuses on Teacher, the life he can't remember and how he might be different as well.
It was interesting to find out that there are TWO types of Outsiders. The ones that are cursed humans and the 'natural' ones born from the Mother. It seems like Teacher might be one of the latter, even though he insists that he used to be human. Since cursed Outsiders have a short lifespan (and turn into trees), it seems like Teacher has survived way longer ... but we'll see š

Iām somewhat torn. Because this one was cute, I loved seeing Teacher and Shiva playing in the snow and being adorable. But given the authorās pedo stories in that one book is hard for me to enjoy moments like that in this seriesā¦ :/ If I hadnāt learned about that this volume wouldāve probably been the first 5āļø in the series for me. I just donāt feel like I can rate it that highly though when it kind of just gives me the ick a bit now.
The world building was finally explained a bit better, but itās still kinda vague. Also didnāt we already know Teacher was once human? It felt like it was supposed to be a reveal but I swear he already told Shiva that in the first or second volume.
