these are such good books I made the mistake of reading them by series... you really need to read them in order of the Authers notes lol. I recommend going to her web site and getting a reading order.

I just love this author! The Kings of Guardian series is one of my favorites, and I’m so glad Ms. Michaels has decided to explore this branch of Guardian Security! Although I think Anubis/Kaeden could have to shared his intentions a little more throughout most of the book, I love the MCs. Other authors may use Sky’s situation in life as an excuse for their heroine to be a whiny complainer, but that is far from the case here. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the people who live in Guardian’s Shadow World!

This is a romance – my favorite kind – one with a happy ending. There is sex involved and some swearing. There are assassins involved, but they play for the good guy side. There isn’t any graphic death – not like a horror story might have, but there is a couple of dead people involved.
I really love the Kings of Guardian series. If I had to choose, my favorite to date is Jewell. However, we are on Anubis right now. This is another series that author Kris Michaels is writing. It’s called Guardians of the Shadow World.
This series has recurring characters which is the part of the series I like. Even after their story is done, the characters pop up in other stories. It’s like being part of a family. I get to see them joke and tease as well as watch their progression with the family and their position within the Guardian world.
I know the concept of having assassins on the payroll might be tough to think about in real life and it might be hard to reconcile taking the life of someone else because of their penchant to kill and destroy lives. I get that. However, I am sure there really are people that have this job to make our lives less frightening. With that being said, I do not have a problem with the Shadow World of Guardian. In a perfect world, karma or whatever you want to call it -would punish those that do atrocities to other innocents just because they can. We all know there is no such thing as a perfect world.
Anubis is Guardian Security’s asset and he kills with poison. He is not an up close and personal killer. I could do research and see what that means psychologically, but that would be going too far and besides, I don’t really want to know. This is a suspenseful story and I loved it just the way it is.
Everyone deserves happiness and this was an incredible story of a ray of sunshine perminating a life lived in the shadows. It was a story about a path that was set in stone suddenly having a fork in the road that may lead to a better life.
The heroine was not whiny. She was a strong lady and she didn’t make stupid choices. She did what needed to be done and did not hesitate to face problems head on. I think Sky was the toughest woman have met in a story.
The hero, suffice it to say, was struggling with himself. The things he’d done and the danger he would bring to the doorstep of the people he loved. It was a battle that ranged from the “right thing to do” and the “right thing I want to do”. He was rather between a rock and a hard place. I loved the way it all turned out. 5 stars.

Kris Michaels and the new Shadow World is TOTALLY doing it for me

I fell in love with Kris’s books when I read the first Guardian book. I am totally excited for this new series and the first book did not disappoint.

I little baby girls is sick and needs surgery. With a rare blood type she needs a match before she can have the life saving surgery. What she needs is her Daddy.

Her Daddy, Anubis has no idea that she exists. Through her Mommy using everything in her power to locate him, she comes to the attention of the Guardian super Computer Greek, Jewel. The message is received and her Daddy comes to save her life.

The setup for surgery causes a chain reaction to happen that set events in motion that cannot be stopped.

This book is worth your time to read. Find out how a born assassin turns into a family man and will stop at nothing to keep his family safe.

A great start to the spin-off series for the original Kings Of Guardian series. Do yourself a favour and read that series before commencing on this spin-off, everything will make a lot more sense and the relationships and background will make this a much richer story.

This novel starts off with the unintentional secret baby trope. If that’s your favorite like it is mine, you will be into this book. It’s pretty low-angst secret baby though. Sky has been in a serial one night stand relationship with Guardian Assassin, code name Anubis who she knows as Kaeden. She has no idea how to contact him or what he does, unfortunately she needs him because unbeknownst to him, they have a little daughter who needs heart surgery and she has an extremely rare blood type. In trying to find Kaeden, Sky triggers alarms and Kaeden is forced to come out of the woodwork to face his past and protect his new family from danger.

I love this new series and I’m already looking forward to reading Asp’s book next. This author has become a romantic suspense favourite.
