This reminded me of the Netflix show Beef but in the regency era. The fight however stopped making sense and so I got bored halfway through. The banter was wonderful but not enough to carry the book so this was a 3.5 for me. So much potential! I'll probably return to the other books in the series for that reason.

Wow. Okay, so these two main characters are absolutely infuriating. Multiple times throughout this book they come to some sort of resolution, but then by the next page they’re fighting again. And it’s basically always over some misunderstanding where if they would just COMMUNICATE everyone could get on the same page. But I guess then we wouldn’t have a book. This book is fine. It’s nothing special in this realm of regency romances. Will I continue the series? Maybe. I’ll say this though, poor Wooton doesn’t deserve to be treated like this and needs his own book.

Not a big fan of the miscommunication trope and this is just dragging on too much for my liking.

I enjoyed the audiobook and it was a very fun story, but I did reach the point of "ENOUGH!" much like both sets of the main characters' friends.

I'm most interested in reading Emily and Lord Belfry's book.
