This book had a rough start with all the super self conscious teen w a crush on a jock and “oops I’m still so clumsy” adult in the first few chapters but after about five chapters the story leveled out and was AWESOME. Absolutely loved it. 4.5 stars ⭐️

Even if the high school scene is only a flashback, I can't deal w the "nerdy chubby girl who thinks everything would be better if she only had contacts and no braces" trope anymore

A previously nerdy FMC had a kiss from her high school crush 10 years ago. He doesn’t remember it though. At a charity auction, she wins a date with the now fireman, Mauro. After a terrible date, the two meet again at a home sale. They agree to work together to flip the home. Mauro falls for Maddie but some complications keep getting in the way. I really didn’t like his deceased friend’s wife, like at all lol.
Mauro is good at the grovel and making grand gestures. He made Maddie feel beautiful and knew what he wanted. A few open door steamy scenes. Overall, a pretty good romance!

Ich wollte eine romantische Liebesgeschichte und habe einen halben Porno bekommen!
Die beiden müssen so Notgeil sein, denn die denken in der Gegenwart des anderen echt fast immer nur an das eine!
