LOVED THIS BOOK. I think mafia romance is my favourite so I really enjoyed this book. I thought I wouldn’t like Guilia at the start but she really grew on me and I loved hers and Cassios romance. It was amazing to watch the family grow.

A GREAT INTRODUCTION INTO THE MAFIA ROMANCE GENRE!! Cassio is such a sweetheart he is so pure for someone who is meant to be a mafia underboss. Cassio and guilias Romance is amazing the way. Daniel and Simona means so much to them and is a huge part of their love story. I’m not usually someone who enjoys children within a book to be such a huge aspect of a romance however The bond that Cassio and guilia get from their children has made me change my mind with this trope completely. The way Cassio was soo jealous and struggles with trust!! I can’t. Guilia js also just the best character I loved her she is such pure sunshine. My fav flower is also sunflowers and I just Love how strong willed she is and how she holds her own ground!! Such a boss bitch!! <3 also when she goes to talk to Luca it is just so powerful she is so confident and protects the people she loves at any costs

Audiobook Read
Read this in KU a few months ago but decided to listen to the audio and it was totally worth it. It made me like both main characters so much. I just have a soft spot for those single dads!

I was actually surprised. I didn’t want to read mafia stories so I started listening to the audiobook. The story was gripping but I couldn’t Cassio’s voice so I started reading the book.
I loved the story and just a few touches of mafia. I didn’t even cared that he was a killer

3.5 STARS !!!! im not gonna like cassio pissed me off during the first half of the book, but hearing about gaia and what she had done, i felt like i understood why he was the way he was. guila (i think im spelling her name right ???) was just an amazing heroine, her approach to the kids and how she treated loulou just made me love her more. the way she thought of them as her kids, and how cassio and herself accepted them so much. her confrontation with her father and then luca is my favourite scene, the way she stood up for those kids and how cassio was so proud of her. she is just amazing <3333

As I was reading this a few things didn’t make sense to me. How did Giulia learn to look after a toddler and a baby overnight? How did Cassio know Gaia cheated on him for eight years before he had been told? There were a lot of holes in this plot and they made the book a bit frustrating to read.

There were times when I felt as if the book was rushed and it kept dragging - it definitely felt more than 289 pages. However, I did like the storyline and although it was frustrating at times it was a good book.

I do feel like a lot of the problems within the book were resolved too quickly. I wanted more of a character development story, not an instant connection.

I feel like the only reason I’m not giving it less than 3.5 stars is because I’m a sucker for a happy ending.

Stars ~ 3.5
