I did like this book but my dislike for one character made it difficult to want to pick it up and read. Which means the author did an amazing job. Still doesn’t stop me from hating Stacey as much as Dolores Umbridge. Just wish I could of finished it sooner.

I really liked this book. I absolutely flew through it and I ended up becoming much more attached to the characters and story than I expected to. There are several key 'things' going on and yet it never feels like too much, and I really appreciated getting the perspectives of all three main characters. I particularly liked that although they were at times at odds with one another, I emphathised with each of them and ached that things would somehow work out for everyone involved. I loved the look at friendship and the portrayal of having to deal with huge changes and make difficult decisions.

Generally, tough topics are dealt with well, though I do feel I should point out that at one point there's an insensitive remark around self-harm/attempted suicide that isn't dealt with very well. I also found a couple of elements of the story to be just a little bit unbelievable, or at least to be dealt with too simply. However, on the whole I really enjoyed my time reading this; it definitely wasn't quite what I expected, but in a great way, and that's always a good reading experience to have.

(4.5) Amazing book. I could empathise with every character. I could understand how awful Frankie felt, knowing that Jojo and Ram had something connecting them forever and she felt like she could be left behind. I could understand how Jojo felt, with all of her future plans being so exciting and important, but all of a sudden not caring about it at all, only wanting to spend time with her new baby. I could feel for Stacey, with the difficulty of not being able to have a child due to Jojo's existence and suddenly having the perfect opportunity, which blinds her to the fact that Albie is Jojo's baby.

I did struggle to connect with Ram as much, so I might have appreciated a bit more time with him.
I also wasn't a fan of the fact that Ram's self-harm was glorified in the book. Expressing his feelings is good, but his self harm and destruction of his car is not a good thing and not healthy. Other than that, this book was so good and special and I definitely recommend it.
