Creepy af!
I’ve read other books, involving DNA testing, but this one wins the award for the best reason I would think twice before sending mine over (mine is already sent lol).

On Christmas Day someone in the family is pretending to be Santa and has stashed dna test kits from one of those national brands to everyone in the family.
What follows is something you would never imagine that happens to take place in a snowed in cabin for the weekend.
Must read this winter.

Just saw the goodreads rating… didn’t think it was that bad! Read it as a good people in a house, trapped, something sinister happens trip. Didn’t enjoy all the time shifting, multiple story lines and narrators… but, it kept me interested and reading. Exciting.

This is a long, windy book, but the actual story behind it is not too bad, it just takes a lifetime to get to it.

The ending is a bit of a stretch and I'm actually going to look and see if that is actually a thing or just an invention for this book. It doesn't sound legit or admissible for me.

This entire book was riddled with typos, inconsistent verb tense, and missing commas... in addition to being all over the place narratively. I'm usually a fan of "cheap", quick-read thrillers, but I found the villain reveal kind of silly, and there were too many characters to really root for any of them.

Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger--A weekend getaway gone wrong. The trope itself is perhaps overdone, but it's executed well here, in a thriller about family and mixing business and pleasure. The characters were fully realized, with intentions and secrets that were consistent. However, at its core, it's a psychological thriller. If that's not your vibe, this book won't change your mind. If it is, add this to your TBR. Thumbs up.
