I love these boys so much. I don't know if I'm ready to let them go next volume.

The fifth volume of Heartstopper begins a welcome transition for the series towards an older audience. Charlie and Nick are now getting older and Nick has to decide whether his interest in going to university is worth leaving Charlie for months at a time. At the same time, they are beginning to start the foray into sex, but are seeking help in navigating this new stage of their relationship. The book very deliberately pokes fun at the abstinence-based education that is so common in the British school system, and at the same time places an emphasis on the healthy and informed development of sexual relationships. I was delighted to see references to Solitaire in this book, as that novel supposedly takes place at this time. Excited for the sixth instalment!

love love love perfect! absolutely flew by. love the art. love nick deepening his friendships! this one focuses a lot on nick and charlie but even in the background it’s so nice to see how all their friends are developing. i’m happy they’re both
in such a good place individually and in their relationship by the end of the book,
that had made me a bit anxious in past volumes. tori!
