I thought this was pretty good and readable, dreamy and nostalgic like The Virgin Suicides. I liked the characterisations and the dialogue, they read really well and true.

But what was the mystery? I mean…I finished and felt, so? Lots of directions they could’ve taken that in and went the most pointless and anticlimactic

An enjoyable summer read. I was hooked in to the story and the atmosphere of the book from start to finish.
And that last 25%? Wow I’m glad I could read that section in mostly one sitting because I didn’t see it coming.

There is such a strong theme of how vital it can be to resolve our past actions and deal with grief and trauma from childhood in this novel. Families aren’t perfect and this is demonstrated here. I loved Willa and Jackie’s bond and friendship as well.

I do enjoy Amy Mason Doan’s stories and I’ll continue to pick them up. If you are looking for a good summer read with a bit of music, romance and mystery well here you go!

If you're looking for a summer read, Lady Sunshine has to be your go-to!! I'm obsessed with these characters, the folk music vibes, the beautiful setting...this book has literally everything you could want in a historical summer fiction. If the cover isn't enough to convince you, let my review!!!

A quiet, heartwarming story of found family and new beginnings. I guessed one of the two major reveals and the pacing was a little slow. But the audiobook narrator was fantastic and I loved the ending. 3.5 stars

This book was a weird one. I saw it compared to Daisy Jones and the Six but other than the era and the musicians I can't see any other comparisons.

The thing that stands out to me the most having thought about it a lot prior to writing this review was the location and the atmosphere. A stunning huge old house on an estate right on the beach and by a waterfall sounds like a dream come true. The atmosphere was definitely set with this book but for that's where the best part was.

I guess you could call it a coming of age book. Children growing up and coming to that age where you see the adults around you and actual people instead of parents. There was also some mystery to the book and a few good twists but as a whole I think its very memorable, for myself anyway.

To me the rest of the book dragged a little. There were good interesting parts but they were to me spread out amongst unnecessary fill in. I can totally see how someone would adore this book but it just wasn't the book for me.
