Goodreads needs a "I couldn't even finish it" category. It doesn't have one so I made my own. I had this as an audio book and couldn't stay with it. It dragged on, and on, and on. There wasn't one straight forward scene in the portion that I read. The hit man in the beginning kept reviewing all the action and his motivation as the storyline plodded on - I think an attempt to produce suspense. Then we jump forward and home repair woman tells 15 stories in the process of getting her housekeeper to explain her bad mood. All is made worse by the protagonist attempts at snarky humor. I won't be reading anymore of this series.

Small town Maine amateur sleuth who used to be finance expert for the mob, currently renovating a very old house. OK, nothing really memorable, except for the few hundred words about a mysterious book. 082607
