I really did love this book, but the one thing it was missing that I loved from book one was the fact they were both a new species to each other and there were so many moments the characters were stunned at differences, but in this they’d both gotten second hand knowledge from the first couple so that kind of exploring was really minimal. It didn’t ruin the book or anything but I just kind of missed it and wish there were more things we found out here (not that here wasn’t NEW finds, but yeah).
Glad we got some more history, but it also felt slightly less amazing than what we’d already uncovered. The Hunters however were a great addition. They added some action and threats, and will obviously continue into the next book, and I loved seeing the friendships of the three kraken evolve in this one.

I absolutely loved Arkon’s eagerness and innocence. He was so sweet, protective, and kind. He and Aymee were a great match and I loved their story!

It has been awhile since I read the first book in this series, but I still adore this world.
Arkon and Aymee were adorable. It was nice to get caught up while the two of them found their way. I know the story line needed a New villain but I swear the humans in this book got on my nerves with their hateful ways.
The next book is about a female kracken and a human male so I am definitely intrigued to read that one.

I liked this one better than the first. I was looking forward to reading Arkon's story after I liked him so much in the first book. He is intelligent, creative, and thoughtful.
If you like a virgin male with an experienced woman and a sweet slow burn, then you'll enjoy this.
The human hunters are the main threat in this one. There's a little more world-building and explanation of the past history of the colonization of the planet and war with the kraken.

Graphic: Sexual content, Injury/Injury detail, and Medical content
Moderate: Police brutality, Gun violence, and Violence
Minor: Suicide
The body of a soldier is found and a recording showing he committed suicide. The human hunters hurt the women physically.shelvesofash's review against another edition

Alright!
Practice does make perfect. Great improvement from the previous book, still not at the level of Ensnared or Escaping Wonderland but very well on its way.
Arkon is the sweetest and I did feel like he and Aymee had more chemistry and personality than Jax and Macy, though I love both pairs and hope for their everlasting happiness.
I am very curious to get more glimpses of Dracchus and Rhea and Randall and the hunters. The story is developing and I'm really looking forward to what's next.
