So here's my complaint, because I had it this entire book.  We already know and love Joey and Aoife.  We already know most of their story from the 13 books.  So the fact that this is all familiar territory, just from a different viewpoint. It's frustrating.   I want to know what happens after all the craziness from the 13 books.

The writing is still great, the character development is fantastic, and I have to say Aoife is a totally different character in this book than I had previously thought her to be.  The other surprise was how little we see of Shannon in this book when in the 13 books Joey was her lifeline and her everything.

The battle with addiction and rage is so prevalent in this book.  It's dark, it's sad.  And it definitely explains more of who Joey is.

The book is good, it is well written, and it shines a light on addiction, to both people and substances, and it is practically an exposé on toxic and obsessive relationships.

I'm just bummed we're dealing with a story that we pretty much already knew.

I’ve always loved Joey, and reading this book from his POV, didn’t change that. It just broke my heart even more for him. However, this book just felt like it dragged by.
